meditation and creative process for healing and connecting
Meditative practices and creative practices like writing and drawing help us to get in touch with the flow of life inside ourselves — with our sensations, emotions, our thoughts and our stories. They help us connect with ourselves, and give us an opportunity to discern what and how to share and express with others. We find connection by sharing what is true, and build trust at the pace that we feel comfortable with.
Over time, with practice, we build our capacities for self-compassion, to be with pain or difficulty, kindly. We also learn to play. It’s all welcome here. Come to a session, and see what arises in that particular moment, for you.
You choose your medium (writing, prose, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, painting, drawing, fingerpainting, movement…). Bring whatever materials you wish to use: you can keep it very simple with just a paper and pencil or pen. You’re also more than welcome to bring paints, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers, a tablet, computer, etc….whatever you like to explore and experiment and express with.
No experience necessary.

priorities
1. your own body
Tend to your own experience and body as needed. As part of this, everything I say is an invitation, suggestion, or exploration. You know you best. If something doesn’t align well for you, go with your own knowing.
2. confidentiality
What is shared here is shared in confidence. Each person’s story and experience is theirs alone to share. I trust everyone to respect that.
3. active listening and receiving
This is a space for sharing our human experiences and being heard in that. Listening is valued as highly as speaking. Caring and attentive listening is a practice. Notice the impulse to offer advice or to “fix” when it arises, and be curious about that impulse.
4. feedback
All systems need feedback, and I welcome yours. It tells me what’s working and what’s not working. I’ll always stay on Zoom for a few minutes after each session in case anyone has anything that they would like to talk with me about.
***Please note: These practices are meant to help individuals identify resources, practices, and coping strategies they can draw upon in connection with their journey with illness, health and navigating accessing medical care. They are not intended as cures or treatments for diseases. Please seek medical care with qualified providers for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all conditions.
